Demystifying Organic House: Tim Green’s The Night is Blue

Looking back at the What is Organic House? video series, with a few videos under my belt, I’m reflecting on where it all began.

To be frank, I am not surprised I started with this producer and this track. It’s pulsating, funky and has a haunting female vocal – like so many of my favuorite organic tracks

The journey began with Tim Green’s mesmerising track, The Night is Blue, setting the tone for exploring the depths of Organic House.

Why The Night is Blue?

Tim Green, a UK-based melodic house artist, has been a significant influence in the electronic music scene. His track, The Night is Blue, released on July 25, 2023, under Lee Burridge’s renowned label, All Day I Dream, exemplifies his mastery in blending lush soundscapes with hypnotic rhythms.

The EP, titled The Night is Blue, includes three enchanting compositions: the titular track, Gold of Gold, and Jewel.

In an interview, Tim revealed that the inspiration for The Night is Blue struck him during a flight from Dubai after an All Day I Dream show with Lee Burridge. Moved by the music from the event, he spent the entire seven-hour flight crafting the song, intending it to be released on the All Day I Dream label.

That demonstrates the beauty of creativity, and I see it both with screenwriting and producing house music – things just ‘appear’ once you have the core skill set and put the time in.

What is Organic House?

For those new to the genre, Organic House is a subgenre of electronic music characterised by:

• Lush Melodies: Flowing synth lines and harmonies that evoke expansive atmospheres.
• Earthy Textures: Organic percussion, warm basslines, and nature-inspired sounds.
